The Anambra State Library Board is established to acquire information resources, catalogue and classify them and afterwards make them available to the public without any form of bias and discrimination. We provide technical assistance on library development to interested departments and communities. We also offer consultancy services on how to set up, organize, and staff libraries. Field practicum opportunities are equally provided to students of Library and Information Science.
For effective performance, the Board has in operation four main departments each with specific responsibilities. They are:

  1. Administrative Department
  2. Accounts Department
  3. Technical Services Department
  4. Public Services Department
